Privacy Notice
Last updated August 2026
This notice explains what happens to the details you send through this website. It covers the enquiry form and the contact links only. It is not advice about the data protection duties that may apply to a CCTV system installed at your own property.
Who is responsible for your information
MK Fire & Security NI is responsible for the enquiry details submitted through this site. You can reach us at marty@mkfiresecurity.co.uk or on 028 9600 5164.
What we collect
When you submit the enquiry form we receive:
- Your name
- Your telephone number
- Your email address
- Your postcode or town
- The property type, service and project type you selected
- Your company name and preferred contact method, if you provided them
- The description of the work you typed
- The date and time you submitted the form, and that you ticked the consent box
We do not ask for and do not want alarm codes, access credentials, system passwords, recorder logins or network details. Please do not include them in the message box.
Why we use it, and on what basis
We use the details to reply to your enquiry, discuss the requirement, arrange a survey where appropriate and prepare a quotation. The lawful basis is your consent, given when you tick the consent box, together with our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you initiated. If the discussion leads to work, the basis for continuing to hold the details becomes the performance of that contract.
Who else sees it
The enquiry is emailed to Martin. We use service providers to deliver and store it:
- Vercel hosts this website and processes the form submission on the way through.
- Resend delivers the notification email to us and the acknowledgement email to you.
- Supabase stores a record of the enquiry so it is not lost if an email fails.
These providers act on our instructions. Some of them may process or store data outside the UK, in which case they rely on the safeguards required by UK data protection law. We do not sell your details or pass them to anyone for marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to 24 months so we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us, then deleted. Where work is carried out, the records are kept for as long as we need them for the contract, warranty, insurance and tax purposes, and then deleted.
How it is protected
The site is served over HTTPS only. The enquiry form is validated and rate limited on the server. Enquiry content is not written to application logs, and it is never sent to analytics. Access to the mailbox and the stored records is restricted.
Cookies and measurement
See the Cookie Notice for exactly what this site does and does not store on your device. Nothing you type into the enquiry form is sent to analytics.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, ask us to delete them, ask us to restrict or object to how we use them, and withdraw your consent at any time. Email marty@mkfiresecurity.co.uk and we will deal with it.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this notice changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date at the top.
